Nuclear power... from water!

Here’s the fundamental thing about nuclear power:

Atoms contain energy.
If we extract that energy, we can use it for other purposes. After all, e=mc² . The bomb on Hiroshima, for an example, required only 0,6g of uranium.
The process of extracting that energy involves, naturally, a certain expenditure of energy.
So, the key, and current challenge, lies in developing ever better processes that free up more energy than they require.

People tend to think that the reason we use uranium and plutonium is because they’re highly energetic. That’s not the reason. It’s because of their “radioactive” tendencies.

It’s easier to extract energy from uranium than from, say, water. Right now, every attempt we make to try and release the energy contained in water, for an example, fails: because we end up using more energy than the energy we release.

What if one day we’re able to easily extract energy from water?

Well, at that point, we’ll be able to supply all the energy that a city the size of London requires for an entire week from a single glass of water.

True story.

I am ever more cautious not to make any commentaries that will be considered political. Keeping that in mind, I invite you to see this video - since I post it detached of all political meaning.

Objective analysts point out that Mr Obama’s campaign was very well orchestrated, having focused very strongly on technology, seizing on Web 2.0.

This sort of “orchestration” (in general, not specific to politics) is something that fascinates me. This sort of “orchestration” is what promotes the success of any venture, ranging from running a company to increasing personal productivity.

As such, I was very curious as to the repercussions of this evolutionary step.

This CNN video approaches the follow-up that the American Republican Party is to give to this matter.
